“As a former dental hygienist, I could tell a significant difference in the health of the gum tissue of people under stress. Stress affects the entire body in the same harmful way.”

Walking down to the tent area, you notice the lawn going down to the lake, and realize you are immersed in nature. Shore birds make this their home. The pond is full of fish and turtles. We even have a spring-fed creek along the edge of the property that entices the wildlife to drink and cool off. The atmosphere feels different here. The sounds of nature replace the sounds of the city.
When you enter the tent, you feel like it is all set up for you and your comfort. You begin to relax and enjoy your time here.

Brief History of Sound Therapy:
Aborigines – The didgeridoo has been used as a healing method for 40,000 years in Australia. It is an instrument that gets to fundamentals of vibratory healing. Made from termite-hollowed out eucalyptus wood, its low tones are a match for the bodies’ tissues, thus helping mental, physical and emotional issues by making an altered state of consciousness. It brings sustained tones, breathwork and ceremony.
Egyptians 4000 CE – The pyramids contain special sound chambers as we have seen in Reels (??). They made a spiritual modality into a systematic science by codifying and standardizing it, going from intuitive to methodical. They made accurate acoustic environments and their Ebers Papyrus is the first record of sound healing. Making sacred chambers dedicated to giving just the perfect sound.
Greeks 550 CE – Pythagoras fine-tuned the Greek mathematical principles of sound experience by introducing ratios—called Harmonia. He perfected intervals that had different abilities. This rapidly spread through the ancient world. His system is the single biggest contribution to sound healing and soul adjustment.
Tibetans 1000 CE – They designed implements from a mix of 7 elements into singing bowls, Tingshaws, and Bells using their refined metallurgy. They had vibration for specific healing outcomes that could shift blockages.
Islamic 1100 CE – Spirit and Science merge by making sound into systematic medical practice. Not as alternative, but along side the medical realm as partners. They had musical prescriptions where they assigned a patient Quran verses. They did specific frequencies for certain times of the day and conditions.
1890’s – American physicians began writing about sound with therapeutic effects. Looking at the old practices with a new eye and angle. Measuring and documenting became crucial in this new age. Lab analysis and clinical trials abounded. They mapped the resultant changes, for ex.- Low Frequencies (20 to 100 Hz.) Tissue and circulation. Med Frequencies (100 to 500) Tissue and circulation, and High Frequencies (500Hz and over) for psychological and cognition help.
WWII marks the modern sound therapy. They were trying to mitigate huge number of PTSD sufferers from WWII and made those healers into formal Clinical Practicing Professionals.
Late 20th Century – Newer investigations into sound healing and experiments by Drs. Tomatis on Cymatics, Dr. Jenny on physiological development, and Masaru Emoto on water crystals presented the effects of sound on physical matter and consciousness are continuing to ensure the lasting recognition of sound healing as a vibrant and healthy part of our lives.
